RSS stands for Rich Site Summmary, or Really Simple Syndication, depending on who you talk to. It is a simple method of aggregating news and other information into easily interpreted bundles, and displaying it via a reader. The RSS feed provided on this site is simply a link to the most recent posts in the forum, which allows you to quickly read the latest news and questions being discussed.
In order to view the feed, you need a reader. There are many RSS readers available, most of which also accomodate other news feed types, such as Atom.
- Google provides an online RSS feeder: http://reader.google.com
- RSS Owl is a nice Java-based application for many platforms, including Windows, Linux, and MAC OS X
- RSS Reader is a free RSS reader for Windows (requires the .NET framework)
- SAGE is an extension for firefox for reading RSS feeds: http://sage.mozdev.org/
- There are tons of others out there, just search for "RSS Reader" or "RSS Aggregator"
image on any page) and choose "Copy
link location" from the menu. Then open your RSS reader, and follow its
instructions for adding a feed, pasting the copied link into the URL field.
That's all there is to it. Now, whenever you load the feed, it will be updated with the newest posts to the Forum.
